I provide a safe, non-judgemental & confidential space for you to talk.
I am a holistic Counsellor in Eastbourne with over 20 years of experience in the charity & private sector
I specialise in working with people with disabilities such as sight and sensory loss, autism & learning difficulties.
Hi there,
I provide holistic counselling services working with adults, children and families. I'm a professional, highly experienced counsellor based in Eastbourne in East Sussex.
I use a holistic approach to counselling, bringing together awareness, experience and expression through thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.
I provide a high quality, professional, confidential counselling service to support the emotional needs of all clients. My service is designed to encourage and enable clients to explore, understand and express their thoughts, feelings and behavior, by providing a confidential therapeutic relationship based on genuineness, acceptance and trust.
My specialist areas of expertise include working with children, adults and families living with disabilities including sight and sensory loss, autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) and learning difficulties. I have worked as a holistic counsellor for over 20 years, working with children, adults and families.
The counselling relationship is the key to empowering my clients to develop and enhance skills, strategies, self-awareness, confidence and resilience, so that they may be better equipped to respond to, cope with and manage the issues and challenges that affect their lives.
I work with both individuals and families in Eastbourne and the surrounding areas. If you feel that I could be the right counsellor for you, please get in touch.
I look forward to talking with you soon.
I am a professional Counsellor with extensive experience in providing therapeutic counselling support to a wide range of clients through both my charity work and private practice. My specialist areas of expertise include working with children, adults and families living with disabilities including sight and sensory loss, autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) and learning difficulties.
I use a holistic approach to therapy, bringing together awareness, experience and expression through thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.
I trained and graduated from Chichester University with a professional qualification in Humanistic Counselling. In 2001, I set up a counselling service for a charity in Sussex supporting visually impaired and blind children, young adults and their families. Through this work I have established many connections with local education authorities, health and wellbeing services, schools and other organizations.
Alongside this work through private practice I have gained additional specialist knowledge and experience, working with a wide range of clients and issues. I integrate my counselling and therapeutic skills and methods to suit the unique needs of each individual client. These include play, music and art therapy, mindfulness and meditation.
I attend regular professional supervision and am a member of and work within the ethical framework and guidelines set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Many people feel worried or anxious about reaching out for therapy and are not sure how the process works, so here is an overview of how the counselling process usually works.
Once you have made your initial enquiry or referral, we will have a brief conversation to see if I am the right counsellor for you. If you are happy to use my services, we can begin the counselling process at a mutually agreed time. You can choose to have your counselling sessions face-to-face at The Daisy Clinic or Eden Blue Centre in Eastbourne or online using a platform such as Zoom or Skype.
After our initial chat, I will offer an assessment which will either take place at the clinic, over the phone or by video call, depending on your individual needs. The aim of the assessment is to gather information, identify issues and set goals for future work. As part of the assessment we can discuss and sign a counselling agreement that outlines the expectations, boundaries and limitations of the service on offer. This ensures that there is transparency and clarity about what is involved in the counselling relationship.
These include confidentiality, number, frequency, duration and location of one to one counselling sessions, cancelations and managing the ending of counselling work. Clients under the age of 16 will need a parent/guardian to read and sign the agreement on their behalf.
Together we will review the counselling process at regular intervals, providing opportunities to reflect upon progress and identify any issues that still need attention. New goals can be set and agreed upon during the process.
As an experienced, empathetic Counsellor I can support you with a wide range of issues. Sometimes just talking to someone who isn't a friend or family member can really make a difference to your wellbeing and allow you to be heard in a non-judgemental way.
The list below is by no means exhaustive but gives you an idea of the kinds of issues that we can explore together:
Holistic Approach
Alongside my expertise as a holistic counsellor, I also teach and practice other techniques such as:
These techniques can aid the thereapeutic process and can be used to enhance overall wellbeing.
Please get in touch if you would like to discusss how I might be of help. I offer face-to-face and online counselling and therapeutic services. There is no commitment required.
